Introduction to Media

 1)  When i first studied media during year 9-10 i found the subject itself to be interesting. It changed my perspective on the media around me and its purposes.

2) I took media studies at Greenford.

3) The grade i got was a 5 and I created a TV sci fi drama. My greatest weakness would have to be my writing speed while my greatest strength would have to seeing different perspectives from people in media.

4)  I hope to achieve either a 6 or 7.

5) I plan to get an apprenticeship but i'm not entirely certain about this or university.

6) Covid-19 would be the biggest media story since it effected everyone around the world.

7) I use Twitter, Youtube and the TV (Good morning Britain) to find out about the world and its current affairs.

8) Last film i watched was Monster house.

9)  My favourite series would have to be Avatar the last air bender.

10) I probably spend at least 4-5 hours online. This is probably enough time spent on it because of the Internets accessibility and advantages it grants people that use it. It makes a lot of things easier like gaining information on a topic to communicating online to spread your own perspectives on certain things. Its become so useful that its been embedded into every day life.

Oh Comely-Audience

 1) Oh Comely was started by three friends at Oxford University. They wanted to create the antidote to the women's magazines on the market. Iceberg press owns Oh Comely and they are an independent publishing company. 2) They're print circulation is around 10,000 copies and they have 30,000 subscribers. 3) The editor, Alice Snape, characterises the average Oh Comely reader as 18-35 year old creative, intelligent women who may or may not be settled into they're careers and are looking for inspiration from other women. 4) The magazines design reflects its words, Its clean and minimal layout allows its words to shine and be the main focus for they're readers. They don't use any photoshopping of they're photos to keep everything natural. 5) At Oh Comelys core they're a team of four women who all work part time on the magazine.  1) Hearst communications is a multinational mass media and business conglomerate that owns several assets like Magazines (Men's health, Esquire etc), Newspapers (The Hour) and broadcasting networks (ESPN inc). Its based in the Hearst Tower in midtown Manhattan.  2) Hearst owns several assets within industries like Magazines (Men's health, Esquire etc), Newspapers (The Hour) and broadcasting networks (ESPN inc) 3) In 2019 the global revenue for Hearst communications was 11.4B. 4) Some of the other magazine brands that Hearst UK owns are: Cosmopolitan, Digital spy, Elle, Delish, Womens Health and several others.
