1) A film that supports Todorov's narrative structure is I, Robot. The equilibrium is during the time Del Spooner is just doing his job as a homicide detective, the disequilibrium would be when they realise the robots are being controlled by VIKI and try to fight against them. The new equilibrium would be at the end where they defeated VIKI the robots have become passive again.

2)The Originals Pilot 1x1

The opening scene tells us this was set 300 years ago but this historical marker is reinforced by the clothes they wear and the way they speak. A geological marker is also found here as the scene is set on the Mississippi River which is located in the united states. Additionally the generic marker is easily evident as the we see the graphic deaths of 3 men from these vampires showing the audience that this is a fantasy horror from the start.

3) The characters that fit Todorov's hero role are:

  1. Superman- From Man of steel
  2. Annie January- The Boys
  3. Luke Skywalker- Star Wars
4)An example of Binary Opposition would be good vs evil.

5)When the police man captures the criminal in a crime drama- The ideology of law and order is emphasised.

6)The enigma codes give gratifications to the audience as they provide questions and mystery to the story which they could solve or wait till these questions are answered. Action codes help keep the audience entertained and present the characters with challenges to go with these enigma codes.

7) Four different types of narrative:
  • Episodic- Short narratives that are resolved in one episode.
  • Overarching(Serial)-Narratives that tend to extend over more then one episode till they find a resolution
  • Mixed-Contains both episodic and over arching narratives which means it can tend to both loyal and new viewers
  • Multi-Strand Overlapping- Has continuous narratives strands that are all different from each other with some being short stories and others being a lot longer.
8) Adverts use narratives to present consumers with a problem and the resolve it right away with some kind of product or service.

 1) Oh Comely was started by three friends at Oxford University. They wanted to create the antidote to the women's magazines on the market. Iceberg press owns Oh Comely and they are an independent publishing company. 2) They're print circulation is around 10,000 copies and they have 30,000 subscribers. 3) The editor, Alice Snape, characterises the average Oh Comely reader as 18-35 year old creative, intelligent women who may or may not be settled into they're careers and are looking for inspiration from other women. 4) The magazines design reflects its words, Its clean and minimal layout allows its words to shine and be the main focus for they're readers.
