Oh Comely- Language and representations

 Front Cover 1) The masthead's typography is written in a sort of handwriting style most likely in an attempt to make the magazine feel more casual and friendly almost like a diary. 2) The words under the masthead introducing the topics contained within the magazines helps tell us that the audience seem to enjoy being invested in a lot of different types of media like film, fashion and music. 3) The cover lines surrounding the magazine create a sense of enigma for the audience as Oh Comely's coverlines taunt the readers with subjects of interest but dont disclose much information about it beckoning them to open the magazine for answers. 4) Oh Comely's centre image subverts several conventions of other standard magazines. The model goes against the stereotypes of female models being shown in the media with them showing very few feminine traits.  5) Oh Comely's representation of gender seems to be focused on empowering femininity in they're own expressive way. Teen Vogue audience and representation

Audience   1) Teen Vogues mission statement is to educate enlighten and empower they're audience to create a more inclusive environment. This already shows that one of the audience pleasures that they're audience will gain by consuming they're media is surveillance, personal relationship and identity. 2) Teen Vogue's target audience seems to be teenage female reformers and explorers who reside within gen z or millennial's. They're audience contains 63% of millenials/gen z. 3) Some of the audience pleasures gained by Teen Vogues readership are surveillance, personal relationship and identity. OSP Teen Vogue- background and textual analysis

 1) The article that announced Teen Vogue as a more serious and political website was called "Donald Trump is gas-lighting America". 2) Teen vogue was originally launched during January 2003. Its original content was the usual standard cocktail of fashion must haves and celebrity worship 3) In 2015 editor Elaine Welteroth changed Teen Vogues approach by adding three unknown black models on the cover (Seemingly breaking all of the rules that you should have a famous person; and that having no Caucasian faces on the cover is a commercial risk).  4) Each day Teen Vogue tries to post between 50-70 stories for its readers.  1) Bill Thompson states that one of the positive developments created by the internet is the access to a way to talk to hundreds of thousands of other users around the world. The net is open to innovation like email, the web, Spotify or snapchat. 2) Some of the dangers that are linked to the development of the internet is the fact that the network doesn't care what the data means or how its used. Its next to impossible to stop spam or abuse. This side of the network will always exist. 3) Open technology refers to the belief/idea that people want an open society based around the principle of equality and free expression.  1) Hearst communications is a multinational mass media and business conglomerate that owns several assets like Magazines (Men's health, Esquire etc), Newspapers (The Hour) and broadcasting networks (ESPN inc). Mens health Magazine- Language and representation

Language  1) Mens Health's colour scheme are very conventional to colours that represent masculinity in general these colours consist of black, white and blue. The mast head of this magazine is the only text that is placed in the serif font while the rest of the magazine is placed in sans serif. Its language used is very exclamatory with them using a lot of action verbs like "Blast, Demolish, Slay" . Vin Diesel is the central image with him representing the "peak of masculinity" in a way.  1) The reason they set up Iceberg Press is to do things differently. To usher in a new age for magazines and media brands. 2) Iceberg Press's mission statement is: Its all about the audience Chase the work not the money compromise isn't our friend We will always make time for ideas  We are stronger when we work with others.
